Motoroil
Engine oil or motor oil lubricates the moving parts inside the engine. It seals small gaps between the cylinder and piston (or piston rings ) and cools components inside the engine – some motors are cooled only by air and the engine oil.
One of the most important properties of motor oil is its viscosity at different temperatures. In winter the oil eventually will be runny despite low temperatures so that the engine start easily and all major parts are quickly supplied with the lubricant.
At high temperatures and under full load the engine oil must not be too thin however so that the important lubricating film does not leave. Additives in the engine oil are intended to prevent oxidation clean the engine and protect the oil from aging. Depending on the manufacturing process a distinction is mineral oil, synthetic oils HC (HC = hydrocracking ), semi synthetic oils and synthetic oils.
